Turn a PDF into Word, Excel or images
Drop a PDF and we read it first, then tell you which format will actually work — and how well. You can always overrule us.
Going the other way? Convert to PDF takes Word, Excel, CSV and images.

Common questions
How do you know which format to suggest?
We look at the shape of the text on the first few pages — whether it lines up into columns like a table, whether it runs in paragraphs like a document, how many images there are, and how many different text sizes. That tells us what kind of document it is. It all happens on your device; nothing about your file is sent anywhere.
Why does it sometimes say the result will be rough?
Because sometimes it will be. A PDF is a finished layout, so going backwards is guesswork. A clean table converts to Excel very well. A designed brochure converts to Word badly — the text usually comes out in the wrong order with the styling lost. We would rather warn you before you download than let you find out afterwards.
Can I ignore the suggestion?
Yes. Pick any of the three. The suggestion is based on the shape of your document, but you know what you actually need it for.
My PDF is a scan. What should I use?
Images, which is what we will suggest. A scan has no real text in it, so Word and Excel would come out empty. If you need the words out of a scan, use the text recognition tool instead.
Is my file uploaded?
No. There is no upload step. Everything — reading, previewing and converting — happens inside your browser. You can check by converting one file, then turning off your internet and converting another; it still works. See prove it yourself.
Only after the tables? There is a dedicated page for that too: extract PDF tables to Excel. It does the same job with fewer choices to make.
