Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026. This policy describes how instanets.com works in plain, technically accurate language.
The short version
instanets.com is a set of static web pages with tools that run in your browser. Your selected file contents are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. We do not run advertising scripts, we do not require accounts, and we do not collect your email. We do measure how many people visit each page, using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, does not build a profile of you, and cannot follow you to other websites. It records the page address, roughly where in the world the request came from, and how quickly the page loaded — never your files.
What we honestly cannot claim
We do not say "no data ever leaves your device," because that would be inaccurate. To load a page your browser still requests our HTML, CSS, JavaScript, fonts, and any tool libraries or models. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process ordinary web-request information such as your IP address, user agent, and requested URL in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. That is standard for any website.
Your files
- Files you select are read and processed locally using JavaScript, Canvas and (for some tools) WebAssembly.
- We do not transmit your file contents, extracted text, image data, or document metadata to our servers.
- When you close or reload the tab, in-memory file data is discarded.
Browser storage
Some tools may store small, non-identifying preferences (for example, your last-used quality setting) in your browser's local storage so the tool remembers your choice. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. Tools that use storage will say so on their page. We do not use marketing or tracking cookies, and our analytics does not set cookies either.
Third-party libraries & models
Tools may download open-source libraries and, in the case of AI-assisted tools, a model file, so processing can happen locally. During the current interim phase some libraries load from pinned public CDNs; our roadmap is to self-host all production assets. Each tool discloses any sizeable download (such as an AI model) before it runs. A full dependency and license inventory is maintained in the project's documentation.
No sale of data
We do not sell or share your personal information, because we do not collect it for that purpose.
Changes
If we change how the site works, we will update this page and its "last updated" date so it continues to match the actual implementation.
